Hey there! I’m glad you’re here! I’m Mary Alaback and this is a brief overview of my artistic journey.
Drawing has always been my favorite thing to do so logically, as a young child my future plan was to become a nurse. But suddenly, I came home from camp one summer in middle school and my enthusiasm in animation just…exploded! I began drawing characters of Disney, Don Bluth and Warner Bros frequently and dove into learning the history of animation and these companies that created these famous faces.
But wait! The development doesn’t stop with just sketches of copyrighted beings; no, starting at the ripe old age of 12, I came up with my first original story and character of many to come, a little cat. That marked the beginning of my true passion: storytelling. This discovery coincided when I found my calling for animation; story is the most important part of a film and I firmly believe in the power of connection between character and viewer. My goal is to tell meaningful stories with engaging characters that viewers can both relate to and have fun watching on the big screen someday!
